SUMMARY:How Full Is the Brain’s Petrol Tank? Evidence from Models of Metabolic Depletion
DESCRIPTION:Topic: How full is the brain’s petrol tank? Evidence from models of metabolic depletion \nSpeaker: Dr. Michael Breakspear\, Professor\, School of Psychological Sciences\, University of Newcastle \nDr. Breakspear leads the Systems Neuroscience Group at the University of Newcastle. His contributions to computational neuroscience include dynamic models of large-scale brain activity\, toolbox development and the detection of nonlinear dynamics in empirical data. His research interests also include translational neuroimaging\, where his work encompasses healthy ageing\, dementia\, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia\, with a focus on connectomics and risk prediction. \n  \nThis seminar will be a hybrid event\, held both in-person and virtually. Please note: In-person capacity is limited. Register now to reserve your spot. \nIn-person location: SFU Burnaby Campus\, Shrum Science Centre\, BPK Seminar Room K9624 \nVirtual: Please register to receive a Zoom link ahead of the workshop \nFor more information\, or to register without using Eventbrite\, please email inn@sfu.ca
