SUMMARY:Pathways in Science: Exploring Majors and Careers
DESCRIPTION:Partway through your first year\, or further along and still unsure on what science major and/or career to pursue? You’re not alone! Join this session to connect with like-minded peers and to gain actionable advice in making your decision. \n\n\n\nWe’ll begin with an activity to self-reflect & connect with fellow students. \nWe will then present on steps towards choosing a program. Some themes we will explore include: the link between your major and career; exploring beyond “traditional” careers\, connecting your experience to the classroom; dispelling myths; and resources to connect with. \nAdvance registration is encouraged so we can best tailor our content. Can’t join in-person? Join by Zoom here: https://sfu.zoom.us/my/scispace \nThis workshop is part one of a two-part series focused on career exploration—join one or both! \n\nPart two (Jul. 3\, 11:30am) is focused on the “how”—networking & gaining experience\n\nThis workshop is co-facilitated with Brenda Badgero\, Career Education Manager at SFU Career & Volunteer Services
