DESCRIPTION:Join us for the July pub night\, our speaker this month is Anna Celler\, Department Professor of Radiology at UBC who will share her personal view as an immigrant physicist. In her own words: \n“The talk will be about my experience in science\, which spans now almost 48 years. It all began long time ago\, in 1969\, in Poland\, when I decided to study physics. (And I can tell you that if I would have a chance to start my life again – I think I would still choose physics.) I will talk a bit about my personal life and my experience as a science student and then a researcher in a quite completely male dominated field (at least as it was at that time). I will talk about our immigration to Canada and then how I struggled in the new country to combine and reconcile the role of a scientist and a mother. I hope that maybe my experience will provide you with a new perspective about … most important things in life of a woman scientist.”  \nTo register please click here
