SUMMARY:CGSHE Speaker Series Presents: Dr. Rod Knight
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Rod Knight is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a CGSHE faculty member. His research focuses on the impacts of sexual-related harms among people who use drugs\, including those that can arise from the sexualized use of substances. He is co-lead of the UBC youth sexual health program hosted at CGSHE. In his research\, he uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify patterns\, motives and contexts of substance use among a variety of key populations\, including youth and Two-Spirit\, lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer and intersex (2SLGBTQI+) people living in British Columbia and elsewhere. His collaborates with several community partners\, including Health Initiative for Men and YouthCO\, to identify and adapt promising interventions to address both drug- and sexual-related harms.

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Rod Knight is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a CGSHE faculty member. His research focuses on the impacts of sexual-related harms among people who use drugs\, including those that can arise from the sexualized use of substances. He is co-lead of the UBC youth sexual health program hosted at CGSHE. In his research\, he uses both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify patterns\, motives and contexts of substance use among a variety of key populations\, including youth and Two-Spirit\, lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer and intersex (2SLGBTQI+) people living in British Columbia and elsewhere. His collaborates with several community partners\, including Health Initiative for Men and YouthCO\, to identify and adapt promising interventions to address both drug- and sexual-related harms.
