Under the microscope\, the algae are stunningly beautiful\, but still\, why study them? Dr. Lynne Quarmby will take us on a journey from molecular biology to the high Arctic and home again\, illuminating the science of cells\, of the climate\, and of snow algae\, while offering a reminder that much about the human experience is beyond reason. It’s also a great way for people that have just moved to\, just visiting Vancouver\, looking for collaborations\, jobs\, funding\, and connections. \nThe Thursday January 26th (4pm – 6:30pm) free networking event appies sponsor is Derm-Biome. Derm-Biome Pharmaceuticals\, Inc. is a Vancouver-based biopharmaceutical company with a focus on skin health. They have developed safe and highly effective topical therapies for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases (acne\, atopic dermatitis) and skin cancer (actinic keratosis and squamous cell carcinoma)\, conditions for which there is a significant unmet need. Derm-Biome is going to be raising a seed round soon to fund moving their inflammatory skin disease drug through a phase I clinical trial\, and their team would love to tell you more about that.
