Discover Your Passion- Medicine

Come join #LifeOverLabels on April 30th to learn more about medical research, med school and careers in clinical fields!
Our expert speaker for this event is Dr. Claire Sheldon, MD/PhD. Dr. Sheldon is a noted neuro-ophthamologist. She did her MD/PhD at the University of British Columbia and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC and also works at Vancouver’s Eyecare Centre.
Dr. Sheldon will be speaking about her experiences in the MD/PhD program, what it’s like to work in her field, and will be giving her tips and tricks for prospective doctors! After the talk there will be time for attendees to network with Dr. Sheldon and our medical student speakers.
Scholarship winners and students from SFU and UBC will also be in attendance at the event and there will be a time for high schoolers to speak with these students about the application process and scholarship tips!
Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated- all proceed will go towards future lecture events!
