Discovery Talks with Dr. Dana Dabelea

The Healthy Starts Theme and UBC Pediatric Grand Rounds present: “Developmental Origins of Pediatric Obesity and Diabetes,” with Dr. Dana Dabelea, MD, PhD.
Dr. Dabelea’s research looking at diabetes during pregnancy led her to believe that a life course approach to diabetes, with a specific focus on pediatric diabetes, could increase the likelihood of identifying early risk factors for the disease before chronic complications can develop.
Currently, Dr. Dabelea is the Director of the Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity and Diabetes (LEAD) Center, and a Conrad M. Riley Endowed Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health.
