Leaving the lab: Job hunting strategies for students pursuing jobs away from the bench
You’ve decided you don’t want to spend all day in the lab running experiments–now what? I will discuss my decision to pursue work outside of a laboratory setting and my path to become a Canadian permanent resident.
I will then cover alternate career paths, factors to consider for your next steps, how to translate your current skills and build new ones, and some tips for resumes. This talk is directed at students and recent graduates in the life sciences, but people from other walks of life may also find some new ideas and suggestions!
