Now in its 18th year, the Microsemi Science Fair Fun Run is the largest timed 5K race in BC and is one of the technology industry’s largest events, supporting young scientists through science fairs across the province. It is a family-oriented event with balloons, free giveaways from run sponsors, free admission for registrants to TELUS World of Science on race day and prizes for the fastest runners and largest teams. The Science Fair Foundation of British Columbia is a not-for-profit charitable society committed to the promotion and development of Science Fair Programs in the province. Science Fairs give students from grades four to twelve a unique opportunity to explore their interest in science and technology. Each year, over 40,000 students from 800 schools in British Columbia participate in Science Fairs, more than 1,500 educators and professionals in the fields of science and technology volunteer as judges and mentors for BC students.
