This month’s topic is: Everything I needed to know to be successful I learned in preschool & kindergarten

Synopsis:
Raising kids and going to school is never easy. Being an older student with one kid and a second
on the way, I was often working with people in a different stage of life whose priorities and
values did not always match my own. What made it easier was coming home every night and
reading books to my kids. Not only does the silliness of kids put the stresses of the day in
perspective, the books themselves reminded me of what skills / knowledge were important for
success.

Bio:
Dr. Perveen Biln is a forty something woman of color, who earned a PhD in cell &
developmental biology while raising two little people. Now happily working in the
pharmaceutical industry as a Field Medical Advisor, her path here has resembled a roller coaster ride: there have been ups, downs, twists, turns and thrills throughout. While she will always be a scientist first and foremost, she wears a closet-full of different shoes, including those of wife, mother, daughter, sister, feminist and friend.
