Space Telescopes with Chris Gainor

Learn about the Hubble and Webb Space Telescopes and the ways they are changing how we see the universe.

Christopher Gainor is a historian of technology and writer specializing in space exploration and aeronautics. He is the author of six books. His most recent book, Not Yet Imagined: A Study of Hubble Space Telescope Operations, was published in 2021 by the NASA History Division. He holds a PhD in the History of Technology from the University of Alberta. Chris is Editor of Quest: the History of Spaceflight Quarterly, and he is also a Fellow and past president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Big Ideas Lecture Series 

This is the second event in our Big Ideas Lecture Series. The other two events are a conversation with award-winning journalist Angela Sterritt and a discussion with inventor Andini Makoinski.
