Soluble ACE2 as a rational therapy for COVID-19
Join Dr. Josef Martin Penninger, Director of the Life Sciences Institute at the University of British Columbia, as he shares details from his recently published study on the cell surface protein, ACE2, as the key receptor for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Dr. Penninger, an Austrian geneticist and the Canada 150 Research Chair in Functional Genetics, will outline how a soluble ACE2 can significantly block early stages of COVID-19, presenting a new therapeutic option.
