The Universe of the Brain lecture series is a collaboration between The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. Take part in an interactive evening on the universe of the mind, and come away with a better understanding of your brain through a dialogue with leading experts on neuroscience, plus state-of-the-art visuals, all under the dome of the planetarium star theatre.

About our speakers
Dr. Liisa Galea’s laboratory is interested in how hormones affect brain and behaviour. In particular Dr. Galea focuses on the effects of stress and sex hormones on neuroplasticity in the brain; the effects of hormones on learning and memory; the effects of pregnancy and mothering on brain function and morphology. Animal models of postpartum depression and sex differences in behavioural and neural consequences of stress are also areas of research.

Dr. Julie Robillard leads a research program at the intersection of neuroscience, technology, and patient experience. Her current work focuses on the development of tools for the evaluation of the quality, ethics and impact of technology for brain health. She is also co-leading a research initiative investigating the integration of artificial intelligence in technology for older adults with dementia and their caregivers.
