Five Faculty Members Receive Latest Round of CIHR Foundation Grants

The Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) has announced its latest Foundation Grants and five members of the Faculty of Medicine are among the awardees. A total of nine researchers from UBC attracted a combined $23.4m.

Michael Hayden, Professor, Department of Medical Genetics
Novel Approaches Directed to Prevention and Treatment of Huntington Disease, $3.6M for 7 years

David Huntsman, Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Mutation, cell context, and the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer, $2.7M for 7 years

Megan Levings, Professor, Department of Surgery
Molecular and cellular biology of T regulatory cells, $2.0M for 7 years

Keith Walley, Professor, Department of Medicine
Translational research to improve sepsis outcomes, $2.0M for 7 years

Yu Tian Wang, Professor, Department of Medicine
Regulation of postsynaptic expression and function of ionotropic neurotransmitter receptors, $5.0M for 7 years
