Congratulations to all of the HLI’s Principal Investigators and affiliated Investigators that were successful in the latest round of funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)!
CIHR funding is highly competitive and that was certainly the case for the 2017 Project grants. UBC had great success, with 19% of applications funded, above the national success rate of 15%. HLI Investigators had tremendous success, with 42% of applications being approved, more than double the success rate of the broader UBC population and almost triple the national success rate. Just as impressive, Dr. Pat Camp was one of only 11 researchers in all of Canada to be awarded 2 grants for this competition. Below is a list of the funded investigators and their projects:
