Every year, UBC recognizes outstanding faculty members with a Faculty Research Award which are meticulously selected by a Committee which spans arts and humanities, business, applied science, science, and medicine. This year, we would like to congratulate Dr. Martin Hirst for being awarded a 2018 UBC Killam Research Prize. Dr. Hirst’s research aims to further the understanding of the role of epigenetic dysfunction in cancer initiation and progression. He hopes to translate this knowledge into improved health outcomes for Canadians and their healthcare system. Congratulations to Dr. Hirst for receiving this award and for the many years of research excellence!
The Office of the Vice-President Research & Innovation will host an awards reception this spring to recognize outstanding UBC researchers. This year’s reception will be held on April 10, 2019 at the Jack Poole Hall of the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre. To see the full list of winners, please visit the UBC Research + Innovation website.
