UBC’s Dr. Jessica Rosin (pictured, left) from the Deptartment of Oral Biological & Medical Sciences and Dr. Kevin Wei (right) from the Deptartment of Zoology are recipients of the 2024 Michael Smith Health Research BC (MSHRBC) Scholar Awards, which recognize exceptional early career researchers as they develop leading-edge research programs, train the next generation of scientists, and advance cutting-edge health solutions. They are among 23 MSHRBC awardees from BC. Dr. Rosin will use her grant to investigate phagocytic immune cells while Dr. Wei aims to uncover more about the mechanisms behind transposable elements.
