Dr. Govind Kaigala from the UBC School of Biomedical Engineering
April showers brought more than May flowers. This month we saw numerous students, fellows, and researchers recognized for their outstanding contributions to science. In particular, many members of the Vancouver science community were celebrated for their teaching and mentorship skills as well as given key funding to launch their early academic careers to the next level.
This month’s spotlight features Dr. Govind Kaigala (pictured), Director of Partnerships and Community Engagement at the School of Biomedical Engineering, and Senior Scientist at the Vancouver Prostate Centre. This month, Dr. Kaigala was the recipient UBC Killam Accelerator Research Fellowship through UBC’s 2024 Faculty Research Awards.
“I am thrilled to receive this recognition that will provide our lab the opportunity to develop a range of biodevices to precisely profile and model heterogenous tumors and their response to treatment,” says Dr. Kaigala.
