Dr. Nozomu Yachie
This October, many researchers from across the Greater Vancouver scientific community were recognized for their exceptional contributions and discoveries. For this month’s summary, we’re pleased to spotlight Dr. Nozomu Yachie of UBC, who has just been renewed as a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Synthetic Biology. His work harnessing genome-editing, cell engineering and high-performance computing to build “DNA event recording” systems that track molecular events in living cells. This research is helping redefine how we observe dynamic biological processes.
