Dr. Marco Marra
This past month, over 50 members of the Vancouver scientific community were recognized for their research, mentorship, service, and more. As this academic year came to a close, the student community in particular has been honored for their achievements across the Lower Mainland. We’re highlighting Dr. Marco Marra who was the recipient of the 2025 Canadian Cancer Society Lifetime Contribution Prize. The Lifetime Contribution Prize recognizes his contributions to cancer research in Canada and the impact he’s had through the networks, resources, and training he’s enabled in the cancer research ecosystem.
“Dr Marco Marra’s contributions to cancer genomics research at the national and international levels are unparalleled,” says Dr. Nada Jabado, one of Dr. Marra’s nominators for the Prize. “His innovative research, leadership, and advocacy have significantly advanced the field of genomics and will have a lasting impact on the cancer research landscape.”
