There was no tricks, just treats for Vancouver researchers this October! With $23.2 million and $2.5 million awarded to SFU and UBC researchers respectively, we want to offer a huge congratulations to all our incredible scientists that were announced as new and renewed Canada Research Chairs. Our highlighted scientists this month are postdoctoral fellows Drs. Yusuke Shiraishi and Jan Vanwelkenhuyzen, the recipients of the Michael Smith Health Research BC 2026 Research Trainee Awards. Their work at the Vancouver Prostate Centre is helping pave the way for new therapies and personalized medicine.
